Estimation

I know the last thing parents wanted this week was more candy, but we had a lot of fun estimating how many candies we thought were in the jar. Our first round of guesses were much too low with guesses like 9, 10, or 28. Mme Gervais Cartier, our new students teacher, helped us out by counting how many she could see on one side. We then talked about how many would make sense based on how many we could see on one side. After our little lesson, our guesses became much more accurate. In the end we counted a little over 100 candies! Everyone got to bring some home (sorry parents!)

Our first set of guesses were much too low.

A few students came very close on our second round of guesses.
