A lesson in hand washing

We borrowed  the Glitter bug / germ kit from the Ottawa Public Health Network today. It was so neat! Students "put on" a bit of invisible germs that would light up under the special germ magnifier (it's a UV light). Then, we cleaned our hands the old fashion way (ie before we really knew how or how long especially). EEEEeeewww our hands were still gross! We learned that we have to rub the top, bottoms and between our fingers. A good trick is to sing happy birthday to yourself to know how long to scrub. Of course make sure you turn the tap off while you are scrubbing because we want to be healthy and eco friendly. Thank you to my photographer D.K.
