Today our little ones found some magnetic letters. At first they were writing their names; one of the children spelled out his name but instead of in English, he was saying all of his letters in French!
After they had written their names, they moved on to words. We have a bin that has cards in it. On each card is a picture and on the back is the word in french. The children would choose a card, say what it is and then spell it out with the letters!
Two words were found and Mme. Oliver pointed out that in French when o and u are together they make the sound "ou" like in trou and roue. One of the children noticed that they sound the same. Mme. Oliver agreed that they did sound the same and that they were rhyming words.
