Time to Sleep

Today we continued our exploration on Hibernation! All of the children have a good idea of what kinds of animals hibernate now by all of the work that they have done at home! Today we read the book "Time to Sleep" by Denise Fleming. There were some new animals in there that we didn't know about. The children learned that Ladybugs and Woodchucks also hibernate.

After we read the story the children went on to their centers. At our art center we had some supplies out to make dens for our hibernating animals. They children did an excellent job at making their dens. They made sure that they were covered with a roof, and were comfy for the animals to sleep in.
